OUR MATERIALS
〰️ Natural gemstone
Because our gemstones are natural and were found in Mother Nature, please note that size, shape and colour might slightly vary, making them Unique.
〰️ Sterling silver
Long lasting material, we use 925 sterling silver (92.5% of pure silver is mixed with 7.5% of other metals, often copper, nickel or zinc)
〰️ Gold filled
Gold filled jewellery is resistant to scratches and damage, with a lower likelihood of them peeling, tarnishing or discolouring. It is made by fusing a solid layer of gold to a base metal, typically brass.
〰️ Gold plated
All the gold plating items that we work with, are plated over brass. We use 14k, 18k and 24k. Most of them, have been lacquered with anti tarnishing products.
CARING FOR YOUR JEWELLERY
At Petit Mousse, we take great pride in the quality of all our jewellery. All of our pieces are suitable for daily wear. We use gold filled, sterling silver and real gold plating.
In order for your jewellery to last as long as possible, we recommend the following care instructions for wear and safe keeping:
〰️ Prevent items from being exposed to moisture and direct sunlight.
〰️ Remove pieces before showering, swimming, sunbathing, exercising and bedtime.
〰️ Metals may tarnish over time due to oxygen and natural body oils
〰️ Try keeping your pieces away from another to avoid any scratches from friction
〰️ To reduce tarnishing, store your jewellery away from humidity, in a sealed bag/box in a dry, dark and cool place.
CLEANING
When cleaning your jewellery, take a gentle, extra care approach to avoid damaging or scratching your pieces.
〰️ Gently rub and polish your jewellery with the provided polishing cloth (not paper towel or toilet paper) or use lukewarm water associated with a mild detergent like soap. Please be careful not to over polish as this can damage the gold plating.
〰️ Everyone’s skin varies in PH levels. The oils in your skin may have a higher level of acidity than others, which may cause your jewellery to oxidise and cause discolouration.
〰️ All metals oxidise naturally with time and will require maintenance.
